Hi! We are Julian and Emily! We’re excited that you have found our page and are filled with gratitude that you may consider us as prospective parents.

We met in 2015 at our undergraduate university. We shared a friend group and learned that we came from rival high schools. Turns out, we had been 20 minutes apart our whole lives, seen each other (unknowingly) at sporting events, and just never got to meet until our freshman year of college.

As an engineer, Julian loves to solve problems, create equations, and apply them to our family’s life to ensure that we have a great future in terms of finances, careers, school districts, communities, extended family involvement, and more. Emily has always loved everything to do with school. She enjoyed playing school with her two younger sisters growing up and teaching them what she had learned that day. Even though she graduated with a BA in Communication Studies in 2019, she quickly enrolled in an accelerated Master’s of Secondary Education program, graduating again in 2020. From there, she began her career teaching high school English and can’t picture herself doing anything else!

We live in a beautifully renovated large townhouse in the suburbs of Alexandria, Virginia. We moved to this area in June of 2026, to be closer to family. Julian's parents are one street away, and his brothers and their families are within a 15 minute drive of our home. We love getting together with friends and family, and do so often. We love cooking in our custom kitchen, sipping wine from our bar collection downstairs in the library room, and planning the future of our family. We both grew up in large, close-knit families, and wouldn’t want to change that for the world! In both of our families, cooking and sharing a good meal is a form of love. Julian is the middle child of three boys, and Emily is the oldest of three girls.

Julian’s father and brothers are also engineers with advanced degrees. Learning new skills and hobbies is a family cornerstone. His mother is a retired preschool teacher, so he and his brothers grew up understanding the importance of schooling, which we...

One thing about us – there will always be good food on the table. We both come from families who enjoy cooking, and we have studied many family recipes over the years. Let us know if you have one we should learn and pass on!

Every year, we hold the Great Christmas Cookie Debate. Julian’s mom makes different types of Christmas cookies with her friends, and the entire family participates in a taste test to determine if the new cookies are keepers for future years. It is very contentious!
